LENA

LENA is an international concert pianist, song-writer, and more recently vocalist and actress, who began writing songs as early as age 3.  Born in Cuba, she is a star born to the stars.  The classically trained musician is the daughter of famous musician Malena Burke and the granddaughter of the legendary Cuban singer Elena Burke.  

Although LENA began honing her skills as a classical pianist at age 11, it wasn’t until she graduated as a concert pianist that she realized she also had a strong and sultry voice.  Her recent self-titled CD, Lena, includes her first self-penned single, “Tu Corazon,” a duet with world-renowned singer-songwriter Alejandro Sanz.  Her albums are enriched with her own personality, Caribbean beats, and classical piano.   

Since LENA’s international launch in May 2005 she has received 2 nominations at the 2006 Latin Grammy’s: one for “New Artist of the Year” and another for her song “Corazon.”  She also received a nomination at “Premio Lo Nuestro 2006” as “Artista Revelación del Año.”  In 2005, she participated in MIPCOM and sang to Jose Jose during his tribute as the “Person of the Year” in the 2005 Latin Grammy’s.  She has also shared billboards with important international artists like Alejandro Sanz and Sin Bandera.
