Valerie Cruz

Valerie Cruz realized at a very young age her ability for crafting rich and diverse characters, was a gift to be shared on stage and screen.  Cruz was born in Elizabeth, N.J., and later attended Florida State University, where her passion for acting led her to receive her BFA in theater. Cruz’s inaugural leading role as Grace Santiago on the F/X hit series Nip/Tuck was the start of a successful television career.  Since then, Cruz has been a chameleon in the TV and film world. She has made numerous guest and recurring appearances on many network shows like Eleventh Hour, Dollhouse, Grey’s Anatomy, Invasion, LAX, Crossing Jordan, and Las Vegas. In 2008 Cruz  played Maria Nolan on Kevin Williamson’s drama Hidden Palms, as well as Connie in SciFi and Saturn Film’s hit series The Dresden Files, which led to a 2008 Alma award nomination.  

Cruz can currently be seen on Showtime’s hit series Dexter, which led to another nomination at the 2009 SAG Awards.  Look for her next on HBO’s hit series True Blood, as she joins the cast as vampire Isabel in their second season. In addition to television, Cruz is beginning to make her mark on the independent film circuit with upcoming films like the action-drama La Linea; as well as in The Devil’s Tomb.  Cruz currently resides in Los Angeles.
