Erica Ortiz

As an 200-mph-in-less-than-7-seconds 1/4 mile drag racer Erica Ortiz knows a thing or two about speed. Erica says, “I love driving, there’s nothing like matting the throttle and being pinned back to the seat, but I also love being under the “hood” myself working, too. I’m a gearhead, and probably know more about cars than 80% of the male population, and am not afraid to say so." 2006 marked Erica’s first year in PRO, and she finished the year in 2nd place. She says her ultimate goal is to race full time with the NHRA, and “I’m not stopping until I get there!”

As a female drag racer Erica has been featured in Latina Magazine, Tire and Tracks Magazine and on Hispanics Today Television. Erica grew up in Florida and currently resides in Grant, AL. She is Boriqua and Cubana.
