Mission The purpose of the Palomita Education Fund is to award scholarships to assist Latino students in completing their undergraduate college education. These scholarships are available through a merit and need-based competition to high school seniors of Latino backgrounds entering undergraduate programs.
The mission is to empower Latinos through educational advancement. Preparing them for personal and professional success. History The Palomita Education Fund was founded in 2007 by Molly Robbins, a successful entrepreneur and Mexico City native. It is a non-profit organization that encourages and supports professional and leadership development in the Latino community. The objectives of the organization are to 1.) provide scholarships to Latinos planning to or currently enrolled in college; 2.) encourage participation of the Latino community in higher education and professional growth and 3.) promote a productive and high-quality life. In 2008, PalomitaTM established an annual charity fashion event, "Piensa Mas Alla or Think Beyond," from which all proceeds went towards the PalomitaTM Education Fund Molly Robbins established her Latino-inspired clothing brands, PalomitaTM and ChuchoTM, to embody the essence of Latina lifestyle. The lines quickly became popular for featuring designs that highlighted well-known Hispanic trademarks and vintage art from an array of Latino companies. She has bachelor of science in Legal Studies from University of California, Berkeley. Before establishing her own business, Molly was VP of Licensing at All Access Apparel, Inc., Director of Licensing for bebe and Licensing Manager for Levi Strauss & Co. |
